Both voice and text messages can be sent to a Poppy Device. Note that since the device has no screen, images and videos will not be delivered.

Text Message

Simply type and send a text message. The message will be read out loud using a generic voice.

We suggest avoiding emojis since they do not translate well given the screenless nature of the device.

Voice Message

Voice messages are played exactly how they are recorded, allowing the recipient to hear the sender’s voice. To record and send a voice message use your phone’s messages app:

iPhone Messages: Tap +, then Audio to start recording (for more information, see Apple’s iOS instructions for sending an audio message)

Android Messages: Tap the sound waves symbol and follow the instructions (for more information, see Google’s Android instructions for sending an audio message)
