What you’ll need
- A new, unactivated Poppy device
- A Wi-Fi network with internet access
- A computer, tablet, or smartphone that can play a sound
Note: at this time 5ghz wireless networks are not supported.
Activation Steps
- Plug the charging dock into the provided power supply.
- Insert the device into the charging dock.
- Wait for the LED bar on the device to display a marching green pattern.
- Visit talkpoppy.com/activate and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the activation process.
Troubleshooting
The lightbar is off
If you don’t see the any lights, please ensure that:
- the charging dock is connected to the power supply
- the power supply is plugged into a working outlet
- the device is properly seated in the charging dock
Remove the device from the charging dock and reinsert it.
The lightbar is showing another color
If you see a different color than a marching green pattern, please refer to the light bar section of the usage guide for more information.
The lightbar changes to solid green then back to marching green
This indicates that the device is unable to properly hear the activation sound. Please ensure that the room you are in is relatively quiet and that your speakers are not turned up too loudly, then try again.
Activation starts but does not complete
If the lightbar turns blue to indicate activation is in progress but then returns to marching green, the device was unable to complete activation. This may indicate that your wireless network information is incorrect. Please verify you have the correct network name (SSID) and password (PSK), then try again.
